James you make some valid points. I would agree; the internet has a place in the world of magic, but the users have to be sure to use it in the correct manner. It can be a means for good.

Chris, I feel with out magic on the "internet" (magic sites, stores...etc.) then most would be lost in their quest. "YouTube" on the other hand will hurt magic a little at a time. Someone will expose the newest trick out there and then no one will "buy" that trick any more. Laymen will be able to "Google" a trick they saw and may be find out the secrets.

I myself would have been a lost "french drop" magician, if it wasn't for places like T11, "E" , "Penguin Magic" and "H&R Books" to name a few. I have but one place in my living area that sells magic props and they do not have a lot. The library doesn't have a very big selection of books to check out and if you don't know what book you are looking for, a book store is no help with this topic.

I just happened to come across "Mark Wilson's Compete Course in Magic" at a book store years ago and picked it up. Best thing I ever did at the time. Still have it (hard back cover) and go back to it time after time.

So, to get back on topic the "internet" will help if used as a resource to find places to buy things or talk to other magicians. Just look out for those who want to spoil the magic for all.
