A different side of magic

An On Going Project. We Need Your Help!!!

logomini An On Going Project. We Need Your Help!!!Ok so here’s the deal. I have comprised a list of questions to ask 3 groups of people. The first group are professional/semi-professional magicians, the second group will be magic hobbyists, and the third and final group will be random people who have nothing to do with magic. So why am I asking for help, well frankly there’s so many people and so many questions why not get the ones you want answered by not only magicians but also people we’re performing for. So here’s what I’m asking for…..

I am looking for questions that are related to magic but don’t describe magic effects. Things like, “When you think of a magician, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?”

Submit your questions in the comments below, the top 10 questions picked, will be announced and will have the chance to win some great prizes. This is a project to see what exactly magicians worry about and what laymen are thinking about. I hope all of you will submit or even ask your friends and come up with questions together. After I’ve asked the questions I’ll be taking them to the streets, magic shops, conventions, lectures, malls and anywhere else that magicians, hobbyists, and people who have nothing to do with magic get together.

All questions must be submitted by March 1,2012. Can’t wait to get this started!!!

Thanks in advance for you’re help and please comment on posts you like, share posts you enjoy and like our Facebook page where you can also submit questions and be entered @ The Daily Deception

I am a “hobbyist” and I would like to ask…

“What do the people really want to see?” Do they want to see a rabbit come out of a hat or do they want to see flashy lights, smoke and mirror type magic.

“There is a lot of magic that is being practiced…are you sure your practicing what people want to see?”

My view on that is…practice what you want and make the people want to see what you got. More to come…

James, I have found that what you practice is what turns you on magically. For example, what tricks when you saw them just blew you away or made you laugh?
I Hated card tricks when I first started magic, well, I didn’t hate them, I loved that magicians cool blow my mind with them, but when it came time to learn them… They were really hard. I didn’t even know how to shuffle properly, in fact I am still working on it!
But you ask what do people want to see? I think the things that “Tickled” you magically are what you should learn and do for others. Why?
Because you have a heart for these effects. You know how they “Played” for you. I love Daryl’s Amazing Acrobatic Knot. Therefor I decided to learn it and perform it. I love Gazzo’s Egg Bag. Ditto on learning and performing it!
Because you like something, your enthusiasm for it will come thru (Hopefully) when you perform it.
      Hope that makes sense.
There are lots of GREAT tricks out there, but one’s that don’t touch me, even though they are fantastic, I do not perform because they won’t ring true when I perform them.
      Hope this helped!
